McMyler Dumper Model at the Garden State Central Model Railroad Club
These are pictures taken in 1997 and 1998 at the Garden state Central Model Railroad Club while I
was building the operating model of the McMyler dumper at Jersey City.
| The completed dumper as it now works hard at dumping coal in Jersey City on the Garden State Central. |
| Above is the dumper at the beginning of construction. The 3/4 inch plywood base is already cut out and the main verticle beams are epoxied into it. | The first dumping test. |
| The testing continued with a makeshift pan to dump into. |
| A shot of me conducting one of the tests with Uncle Al looking on. |
| Here you can see the dual electric motors | These are the same motors still being used, though the pulleys have been taken off. The motors are now connected to each other by 2 brass tubes around which the 2 main cables are wound. In the prototype the cables wound around a huge drum. |
| The top beginning to take shape. Still need more pulleys. | The dumper's main body is almost complete. Next comes the pan. |
