Lynn Ave. Bridge - Bethlehem PA.

These are pictures of the Lynn Ave. bridge that went over the PBNE Iron Hill Yard. The bridge is 80 years old and is slated to be replaced in the near future. People wanting to get pictures of the PBNE Iron Hill Yard would often take pictures from it. When I read that it would be replaced, I looked for pictures of it so I could model it for my HO layout. I found that although I had been on it many times, I had few photos of it. On September 13 2007 we made the trip to Bethlehem to take some pictures of this great old bridge.

This picture was taken by my friend Rob Davis in September of 2005. It is actually the corner of a picure of the Iron Hill Yard tower, but shows a good profile of the bridge.
One of the things I wanted to see was how the road rose up and onto the bridge. This shot of the approach ramp shows the heavy concrete construction.
One of the things we could not figure out was this concrete pole. It is 4 sided and looks like at one time it had a cable attached to it. A telegraph pole? Maybe.
The railing and endcaps are something I want to model on my version of the bridge.
Here is a better shot of the concrete pole.
