Filling a hot metal car at Bethlehem Steel in 1992 These are snapshots taken from a video shot in 1992 by Mike Curry and Bob Judge. They show PBNE switcher number 203 backing into I believe blast furnace "E" and filling a hot metal car. This tapping of the blast furnace happened every few hours around the clock while the blast furnace was running, and they could run for years at a time. See the video
